Rep. Matt Shea, R-Spokane Valley
PERSONAL: A fourth-generation resident of Eastern Washington, Matt is a cum laude graduate of the Gonzaga University School of Law and is an attorney in private practice. He earned a commission in the U.S. Army after completing the Gonzaga ROTC program, and served combat tours in Bosnia and Iraq. He is a co-founder of the Washington family Foundation, which later merged with the Family Policy Institute of Washington. Matt and his wife, Viktoriya, resides in Spokane Valley.

STATE GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE: Matt has distinguished himself as an advocate for lower taxes, smaller government, more freedom, and state sovereignty. Matt has authored and sponsored a package of bills that deals with federal overreach in the areas of health care, firearms, self protection, energy consumption, and constitutional government. Matt also was named “Rookie Legislator of the Year” by his colleagues.
